Default 232 Reasons to Love your Corps

This was my favorite, "Recruiting in Texas is like hunting at a zoo"

My favorites were all the ones (the guy is responsible for several of these every time he writes it) that were either completely wrong, grossly exaggerated, or outright stupid

10. New uniforms #1. Pixel-pattern cammies? Yeah, the Corps came up with that. (Nope, Army)

49. The Corps’ doesn’t call its officers, commissioned or not, “petty.” (We call them much worse )

91. Service Charlies. They look so good, the Navy’s copying ’em. (Wrong)

109. 30 days’ paid vacation, plus federal holidays off, is obscene by civilian standards. (So is working 05 to secure at minimum wage)

121. The “Det One” .45 pistol. Designed by Marines, for Marines. (Actually by Kimber)

134. In combat, the division band becomes a heavy-machine-gun platoon. (They wish)

137. Global instability equals job security. (People still get forced out)

138. When NMCI goes down, and it will, it’s like having the day off. (Maybe in the offices)

148. The NCO sword. Earned, never given. (Ever heard "noncompetitive promotion"?)

163. Standards. The Corps doesn’t lower the bar when recruiting gets tough. (See #24, "Waivers")

184. Iwo JIMA. Japan might have changed the name to Iwo To, but that doesn’t mean you have to acknowledge it. (Actually it does)

186. Marine Corps Times isn’t a version of Navy Times anymore. How many careers get their own newspaper? (A lot)

189. Camaraderie. Marines will hook you up with their sisters, then punch you in the mouth for doing what they knew would happen the whole time. (Yeah, sure)

193. No beach? No problem. Marines inserted 400 miles into landlocked Afghanistan and created Camp Rhino using CH-53 Sea Stallions. (CR was already there)

195. Race as a nonissue. It wasn’t always the case, but three black sergeants major of the Marine Corps in a row show that the Corps has only one color: green.
(Those racism/EO surveys are just for fun)

Actually,

The Canadians in turn developed CADPAT from...

"Both patents issued for CADPAT and MARPAT site Lt. Col. O'Neill's work as the basis for each of these digital patterns."
