More than 20 battalion- and company-size units from U.S. Army Europe have been alerted for deployment to Iraq and Afghanistan in 2008.
The units are in addition to the 2nd Brigade, 1st Armored Division, which is slated to deploy to Iraq in the spring. The newly alerted units are expected to deploy between March and November. Like other units serving in the combat zone, they are slated for 15-month tours. Major elements of the 4,000-member heavy brigade, which is headquartered at Baumholder, Germany, include the 1st and 2nd Battalions of the 6th Infantry; the 1st Battalion, 35th Armor; the 4th Battalion, 27th Field Artillery; the 40th Engineer Battalion, and the 47th Forward Support Battalion. The soldiers, most of whom are based in Germany, will join several thousand USAREUR soldiers already serving in theater. These U.S. Army Europe units are expected to deploy (See article for complete list) -- Article: http://www.armytimes.com/news/2007/1...eploy_071129w/ |

i know this is horrible and that families will miss each other, but we all have to fight through this together. i found a book that might help everyone. it's called "Surviving Military Separation". it was written by Marc Maxwell, a counselor at Wiesbaden, Ge. he's also a veteran of a ranger Battalion, so i guess he has deployed before.
the book can be pre-ordered through amazon at http://www.amazon.com/SURVIVING-MILI...6422556&sr=1-2 i really think it will help because its a daily step by step book that will help family members through deployments. God bless yyou all. |

It may be a little off topic but I want to express my appreciation for all the sacrifices your country has made to remake the Middle East as a safer place for Israel.
I would also like to start a memorial site for Jewish-American troops killed in action, but I can not find a record of any. Perhaps someone can help? People behind the scenes like Wolfowitz, Perle, Feith and Adelman are high profile in this conflict but we should not forget all the Jewish troops on the ground over there fighting for the US. Thank you. |

"Thanks" to the Jewish lobby, Americans started this war... 4000 dead and 35000 wounded americans later we are still fighting a war that is not of our immediate interest. Yes my friend. We are actually fighting this war for Israel's survival and domination in the middle east... But please, please do not complain because we did not build enough monuments for jewish troops killed in action!!
enough is enough! Just say "thank you America for your sacrifice" and keep a low profile Thank you An american soldier |

WHy, in your right mind, would you complain if someone wanted to make a monument to troops who fought in Iraq? What is wrong with you? Especially as a soldier... I just cannot fathom your way of thinking. Every single person who has fought over there deserves a monument.

The search took approximately 0.23 seconds. Here is a sample from 2005 ****************** Marine Cpl. Mark Asher Evnin, 21, of South Burlington, Vt., died April 3, 2003, of wounds received in action. He was a scout sniper with the 3/4 of the 1st Marine Division at 29 Palms, Calif. Army Spc. Jeffrey M. Wershow, 22, of Gainesville, Fla., assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 124th Infantry Regiment, 1st Armored Division, Orlando, Fla. David Bernstein, 24, formerly of Phoenixville, Pa., a first lieutenant with the Army's 173rd Airborne Infantry Brigade, Army Pfc. Jacob S. Fletcher, 26, of Bay Shore, N.Y., was killed Nov. 13, 2003. He was with Company C, 2nd Battalion (Airborne), 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade. Army Spc. Marc S. Seiden, 26, of Brigantine, N.J., 2nd Battalion, 325th Airborne, Army Lt. Seth Dvorin, of East Brunswick, N.J., a member of the 10th Mountain Division, based at Fort Drum, N.Y., Sgt. Elijah Tai Wah Wong, 42, of Mesa AZ, was with the 363rd Explosive Ordnance Company, Army National Guard, based in Casa Grande. Coast Guard Petty Officer Nathan Bruckenthal, 24, Marine Cpl. Dustin Schrage, 20, of Indian Harbor, Fla., 2nd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force. SOURCE ************************** I'm sorry that your attention span wasn't up to the incredible length of time that it took to do the search. Don't worry that I might waste my time searching further - I'm positive that you won't remember that you asked the question if I wait two or three minutes. BTW, one of the reason why you might have had difficulty in conducting your search - other than the obvious one "that you never actually did one" - is that the US military doesn't bother about inconsequential matters like "Hey, that dead guy's Jewish." or "Hey, that dead guy's Black." or even "Hey, that dead guy's an ignorant bigot.".
