Paratroopers from the Army’s Southern European Task Force teamed up with international counterparts to participate in events in Great Britain and France commemorating D-Day.
A formal commemoration was scheduled for Friday, marking the 64th anniversary of the Allied invasion that liberated Europe during World War II, and an international commemorative jump was scheduled for Saturday. Soldiers visited Utah Beach on Wednesday, as well as the American cemetery in Normandy, France, the site of the invasion.
