Ok, I'm going to say it again! Why? I just said goodbye to another friend of mine who was carrying that stupid little Berretta 9mm in a shoulder holster. Sitting at his home he has a military Colt 1911 45 and a Glock 40SW.

In his predeployment briefing he was told, WARNED, that personal firearms ARE not allowed in the AOR by General Order. To bring in any weapon other than what was issued would lead to a court martial.

I ask you other that having 4 stars on his fat frame (lets see him pass his PT test) what makes him so special that he can violate the AOR commanders orders by bringing his personal 357 pistol.

Remember, the AOR commander has command authority over this guy.

I have no love loss for Moseley, I think his personal appearance is one of double standards. Some TSgt gave him credit for writing the Airman's Creed he didn't write it the Secretary of the Air Force wrote it.

I say if he broke the rules punish him.

Drop the 9mm, give the guys a .45 off the shelve and stop mil spec’ing the contract to death

Only a cheap pimp in a New Orleans whore house would carry a .357 instead of the standard issue.

Why is he carrying his sidearm anyway? Don't we have enough OSI agents to protect him? What is he scared of?---Jill Metzger's protectors/kidnappers or what the news media and congress are going to do when they discovered what he's been up to?!

I find it amusing that a 4-star feels the need to even carry a weapon. When "downrange" he's probably got a dozen agents around him with M-4's and Beretta's 24-7. Seems like it's nothing but an affectation..."Look at me, I'm a warfighter!"

I would love to be able to deploy with my AR-10B and/or Sig Sauer P-220 instead of my guv'ment issued POSs. Hell, I'd even supply my own ammo. But being a lowly SNCO instead of a general, I can't just break any rules I want to.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the rules say that flag officers are given the priviledge to own and bear (on duty) their choice of side arm.

So with General Mosely's proclivities, he would look appropriate bearing a pirate's blunderbuss.

I know of no such provision in the 31-series Air Force instructions, which cover (among other things) arming and use of force by Air Force personnel.

If it's true that he's carrying a .357 in theater, I'm not so much concerned with the weapon as with the ammo. The use of certain types of ammunition is a violation of the law of armed conflict. Folks with issue ammo in issue weapons won't run afoul of LOAC.

General Mosely and his friends are not subject to any regualtions, laws or rules from what we see.

Just ask Major Jill Metzger, her OSI husband, his OSI father and their numerous OSI friends and senior officer buddies!

Rules are for the "little people" in our "equal justice under law" system.
