Hello folks.

I'm a German ex-drafted soldier and like to hear stories/ expierences from foreign soldiers.

While being active in another forum I met a guy, who claimed to have been a Marine.
He mentioned to have been stationed/trained in Germany before his tour of duty in Iraq in 2004/2005.

Somehow I have never ever before heard about US-Marines "using" US-army bases in Germany.

That's why I'd like to know, is the story believable? Do Marines train in Germany as well?

Thanks

Was he on MSG (Marine Security Guard) duty? It's not that uncommon to hear of a Marine being stationed on a base of another military branch. As far as training goes we train everywhere. You can be stationed on a base in a foreign country and be deployed to Iraq.

Like being stationed on Okinawa Japan and then going on the 31st MEU and getting dumped off in the dirt. "lucky 04"

It's entirely possible. I know a Marine on a deployed base filled with US Army Reservists and other NATO troops, and he's the only Marine there, besides the Base CO who is a Marine BG.
