After a rather interesting conversation with a Few Proud Marines, I figured the time has come. As we all face numerous deployments; as well as our brethern in the IRR, NG, and Reserves being called to arms: I have noticed that the rivalry between our branches has escalated. Not to the point of being harmful, rather it is due to misunderstanding or neglected information being given. SO I start this thread in the hopes that for those who don't know or just are curious can come here to get the reall 411.
Point in case: Marines are not called "Soldiers". Not because they are not, but they have a proud history in which they must uphold. This doesn't mean that they are better (though some will say different), only that they have a different mission as well as a unique training. This would actually apply to all branches, we all have different ways of doing/saying/seeing things. thus this thread
Utilizing this thread is for those who work/live with members of other branches, so that there is less animosity (though that word is a bit strong) between the military communities.
Some examples are Bulkheads are Navy for Walls, Heads are Marine/Navy for Latrines which is Army for Bathroom.
Place nicely and remember, we all have to have each others back.
