Joined The Marine Corps in Jan 07 and shipped that following Feb, during the training I injured my achilles heel and after 5 months there was sent back home. Now I have an uncharactorized Discharge and a Re-3F code on my dd214 with FE as the reason. Regardless of whether I think this was FE or not as I never hurt it before hand and theres no doctors papers to prove I recieved treatment prior to coming to boot, they took whatever I answered and worded it to send me home. I'm not complaining, I just want to know how I can go about getting back into the service so I can get this ugly statement off my record, Mainly the AF....or AF reserves.
I am aware of the AF making there quota's so waivers will be hard to come by, but lets also be realistic here, before I attempt to talk to a recruiter what are the chances they would even sit down and work with me? Now I know I would have to have a doctors note saying I am fully able to go back also. Would my chances be better going reserves or am I SOL with the AF?
On a side note I do have the phone number of one of my DI's that I helped with paperwork and computer related work while rehabbing and waiting around and he told me if I had any problem trying to get back in to use him as a reference for my conduct and work ethic. Could this be to my benefit in trying to get back into service?

its pretty hard to get something like that changed. I know you can petition the VA to change the code. You might be able to get it changed but it still wont be changed to a code that will get you in any branch of service.

Fraudulent enlistment means no branch of service ever again. References, doctor notes and former DIs mean nothing while you show that on your record.
I'm a little unclear, is the FE claim because the MC says you had the foot injury before you cam in and hid it? If that's the case and you were clear then civilian medical records should be able to show you had no history before the MC.

What is the separation code. Does it actually say Fraudlent Enlistment? You only wrote FE. The 3F only means falure to complet training. That is waverable. Hell even the USMC will waiver it. The separation code gives more details (should be 3 letters).

I dont think the FE means fraudulent enlisment. Take your dd form 214 to an air force recruiter and tell him you are previous service(didnt complete training, not prior service)and he will do a DMDC check on your code. If it comes back ok you can join the AF as long as you have medical recs showing that you are healed up and have no issues with the previous injury.

Yeap, take your form to an Air Force recruiter, explain your situation, and go from there.
Other avenues if you were actually put off for Fraud Enl is the VA and/or your Congressman and/or Senator.

Nope. You can use the DMDC to check all you want but the 214 is still the document you use to verify the RE/SPD code no matter what DMDC says.

I am no previous/prior service expert but I have dealt with my fair share. Unless his recruiting squadron does something different, part of finding out if he is eligible or not is scanning/faxing the 214 AND doing a DMDC check through his squadron operations. They will make the call on wether he will be eligible to join. If he is eligible he will give his med recs the recruiter for a med read and the RIC will fax them to the CMO at meps for approval. If the CMO says he is good he can join he is good to go.

See AETCI 36-2002
If the previous branch of service was not Air Force and applicant does not have an undeleted DD
Form 214 or 215, the recruiter must obtain an undeleted copy of DD Form 214 or 215. (See Table 2.3,
note 1.2). Be specific in the request and ask for the DD Form 214 or 215, specific reason for separation,
RE code, and any additional information needed. Upon receipt of documents, verify the data with
DMDC. Previous service Air Force applicants do not need an undeleted DD Form 214 if separation data
can be verified from DMDC and PC; however, a deleted copy of DD Form 214 is still required. If the
DMDC check indicated IRE 5, 9, 0, or "not in file," there is a possibility of incorrect information being
provided. Validate the SSN, DOS, and Service branch, then make an additional DMDC check. If the
additional DMDC check remains IRE 5, 9, 0 or "not in file", refer to Chapter 4 (Table 4.3, rule 3).
If there is a discrepency, it is a DQ IAW table 4.3 rule 3.
