I saw a news clip the other day (3 July) of President Obama departing for Camp David as he and his family were boarding Marine One I thought I saw one of the Marines that are on the White House detail carrying luggage to the helicopter? I tried to find the clip on all the news web sites but have been unsuccessful so I am not sure if I saw it correctly. (Did any one else see it?). I know that being part of the Marine Honor Guard at the White House is a very prestigious detail- but toting luggage? Come On I could be wrong and it could be part of their job on the detail but it just struck me a slight against the professional Marines who serve on that detail. I am sure that the President himself would not be that callous to order a Marine to hump luggage, I have seen other news clips where he has saluted and then shakes that hand of the Marine standing at the bottom of the steps of Marine One. So I think if I saw what I saw as correct ten probably some low level administration flunky who has no clue what the Marine Detail represents Probably said "Hay you there take those bags out to the Helicopter." or the young Marine could have just took charge because on else would pick up the bags and move them. Like I said it just struck me as funny to see that Marine humping Luggage, It could really be part of their Job I just never sen something like that before. I hope my old eyes were playing tricks on me, if not then since the President is so fond on creating Czar positions he could make a Czar for Presidential luggage movement. Just a thought
