The Air National Guard has extended the age limit for people to enlist to 40 years old. The age limit was 34.

“This change offers a great opportunity for those who have wanted to serve their country but were prohibited based on their age,” Master Sgt. Troy Krabbenhoft, a recruiter with the North Dakota Air National Guard’s 119th Wing, said in a press release.

“People in their 30s are very capable of serving, and it’s exciting that the policy change now allows this. It will especially mean great things for our Minot [Air Force Base} squadron, where a lot of job opportunities remain available.”

The Air Guard activated the 219th Security Forces Squadron at Minot in 2008, and is continuing to recruit to fill positions there.

Once the squadron is fully staffed, it will be the largest Air National Guard security forces squadron in the nation. The squadron is co-located with active-duty airmen at Minot.
