I'm in hopes that someone may be able to answer some questions i have in regards to Biological defense. I have been told that the Army has the best Chemical, biolgical, radiological, nuclear defense program of all the services. My first question is this- Are the programs split up that you can specialise in one aspect or is this a combined deal. I am currently a CBRN specialist in the Marine Corps, however i am looking for something in the service that will allow me to work in one particular area, that being Biological Warfare and Defense. Im not exactly sure how the programs work for other branches.
my second question is What are the requirements for becoming an officer, and what programs would i need to go through to work in the Biological Defense programs? Is there any specific subject i need to have a degree in? i am planning to get a degree in Microbiology. My ultimate goal is to work at USAMRIID in Ft. Detrick MD.
Any advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
