I am enlisted and in the DEP, waiting on graduation to ship to boot, and have just read the new uniform regs. I know that previously females entering boot did not have to get their hair cut, but I am wondering if this has changed.... My recruiter isn't sure, so I thought I'd come to ya'll...
any one got an answer?
and thanks for your time :)

Not that I know of. As far as I can tell based on the new recruits we get, the same standard applies; females must maintain a non-faddish hairstyle (I.E. no strands of hair sticking outside the tied back hair, hair must be natural color) which presents a neat appearance that does not touch the collar of the uniform. Also, your hair pieces should match the natural color of your hair to as to blend in as much as possible.

No, you do not have to cut your hair. I would recommend it, though, you'll save a lot of time if your hair does not fall below the bottom of your collar than if you have to put it up in a bun every day. Aces is right, too, make sure your hair is not dyed an unnatural color.
Good luck

Ok, thanks to both of you.
I have gotten good at the bun, being in band and ALL of our hair having to be in the hat... it has become second nature.
