You are right, and this seriously impairs our ability, as NCOs, to protect our junior Marines too! When I was in my PAO school after lat-moving over to the AF, then returning to a new job as a fleet returnee and learning to be PAO, I pulled a female Pfc out of a seriously volitile situation and it scared the shit out of me.

To set the stage, I had a number of years in the AF at this time and had re-worked up to being an E-5 and I was walking out of my barracks room to do some laundry one Sunday morning and saw a Pfc from my class staggering down the hall w/ this SrA who lived a few doors down from me. She was drunk as piss and when she saw me shouted out "SSgt! My favorite SSgt! Good morning SSgt," and attempted to stand at attention but fell in this dude's arms - he looked sober as day. I've been around the block enough to know what was going on. So ...

I walked down there and asked her WTF was she doing in fleet returnee barracks. The dude proceeded to tell me she had to make a head call and he was bringing her to his room. Fair enough. But, next I told him to STFU as I was talking to this Marine. She agreed she needed to pee. I told her to come use my head then. She said alright and I brough her there.

As I put her in the head and turned around, this dude was standing in my room and was pissed. He asked WTF was my problem and why was I cock blocking. I pushed him out my door, followed into the hall and had some words. He cowered and went away. It was obvious by his remarks he did not merely want to let this piss-drunk Pfc use his head.

After she was done, I put her in my bed and told her to sleep it off. Know I though to myself WTF does this look like? So, I called a fellow Marine E-5 in my class, told him what had happened and had him come over, as well. We played some X-Box and hung out for several hours until she came around, sent her home to her barracks and had some really harsh words w/ her later.

In this day and age, there's no way in hell I'd have had this piss-drunk Marine in my bed sleeping FOR ANY REASON why I was alone. It's sad but true!

Sorry for the long story.

The biggest lie (or misrepresentation) is presented by USMC recruiters. As a duty uniform they wear the blood stripes, which is a pretty outfit and attracts the idiots who think they can wear the uniform all the time.

During boot camp folks receive their wake-up call..."My God, did I ever phuck up or what??"

For all of you skeptics this can happen and probably has happened; however this is where the story takes a strange twist. The lunatic charged the patrol with a rather large knife. The patrol established hostile intent and opened fire. According to him they went through 4 magazines of 9mm, a drum of 7.62mm and he personally shot him 7 times with hollow point 5.56mm followed by 3 rounds of .50 caliber. The drug crazed terrorist did not go down until the 3rd .50 caliber round hit him. At this point I decided to have some fun with him, I asked him if they actually hit him with any of the previous rounds and he swore to all of us that most of the rounds hit the bad man and that all 3 .50 caliber rounds hit him. Until recently that was the best I’ve heard. However a subscriber to this community claimed 85% of his Grunt Company used drugs on a regular basis and that it was being covered up by his SACO. Can anybody top these lies?
As was stated, they were probably on some pretty powerful drugs. Adrenaline shots could also keep a man going after being shot multiple times, even after a .50 removed an arm or hand. However, I do doubt he took 3 .50 rounds.

A "salty lance" that has been in for 7 years. Been to Iraq four times. Was Motor T but some SgtMaj saw him one-upping data marines at their job so ON THE SPOT changed his MOS to data.... Yes, I really did hear some jackass telling this story.

Oh, and to the uneducated moron notamotogrunt, you couldn't do your job without us POGs. You wouldn't know where to go or what to shoot, so shut the hell up and be a real grunt and give credit where credit is due, dumbass. And you realize a humanitarian mission consists of cleaning up a disaster area? That means you will be cleaning up what used to be buildings, you will be moving dead bodies, you will be seeing death and destruction in one of natures worst forms. You're just a idiotic, closed minded retard who is so full of his own hype you think you're the shit. I hate people like you because you're worthless and give nothing but asspain to the Corps. If you are even an actual marine, which I highly doubt. Get a life.

thats a very poor example there putz. POGS are the RB/WR and the grunts are the QB, or vice versa. We both need each other, and useless without the other.

And if any grunts want to be all hardcore and think they can do it all themselves, sure I bet they can, no doubt about that. But guess what, it can also go the other way around, and us POGS can take care of the grunt work. Just because one is given the title of being an 03, doesnt him make him any more capable than anyone else.

Easy there killer! Being a former grunt, I assure you they cannot do it all themselves, contrary to what they like to think. 'POG's' (I hate that term) deserve more than due credit for what they do CONUS and OCONUS. On the same token, I would argue that non-grunts cannot do the same work as grunts to an equal efficiency. Yeah, I know, every Marine is a rifleman. I understand what your point is though, Michaep needs to keep his dipshit comments to himself. Anyway, that's my .02.

oh, I'm easy, and I'm chill. I was just saying, ya know. And thank you for your words, especially being a former grunt. I would agree us non-infantry personnel would not be able to do the grunt work efficiently as grunts, same way grunts wouldnt be able to as efficiently run unit diary as an Admin guy. With proper training like SOI, was non-infanty personnel could do the same thing, like-wise grunts going to PA school. OTJ I think would be another alternative way to train and learn. But, again, you cant expect a Admin to hop on a 50 cal and know exactly what to do, just like throwing a grunt onto a computer to work on IAPS. All I'm saying is it goes both ways. But, it'll aways be an endless arguement anyways with some people. Thankfully, ones like you kinda understand.

I only disagree that one couldn't do the job of the other because IMO it boils down to training. Both sides of the fence have done their respective MOS training and put either through the other I am sure that the same result could be achieved. Of course, mentallity is a big part of it all. Most of the grunts that I know, I couldn't picture them doing anything else. The same goes for some of my fellow MPs.

Yeah, youre right, they can all do the same jobs...

Tomorrow....lets remove 50% of the 03 field and replace it with cooks....should be a REAL smooth transition
