Did you just imply that regular milititary members dont work for a living, flip pancakes and write press releases? How big of you. I guess living with your parents in their basement makes you a better person then?

Ok let's take personal experience out of it and looks at some numbers. Let's just compare the Airforce and Marines to see who "works smarter".

I will only count deaths said to be "accidents" meaning no hostile fire/action.

The Marines have had 127 killed. Out of that 9 were non-hostile (to exclude aircraft crashes).

The Airforce has had 41 killed. Out of that 6 were non-hostile (to exclude aircraft crashes).

So the Marines have about 7% of casualties not related to hostile fire. The Airforce has double that of about 14%.....So who "works smarter" Mike?

You can come in here and talk like rambo all you want. You are not impressing anyone. If anything you are the problem in the military (assuming you are actually in) today. No we don't wear all of our gear in combat, why? Well that giant new MTV makes it impossible to move. Even the Marines now are going to a slimmed down version of the MTV to wear on patrols in Afghanistan now.

You are not god's gift to the military.
You thinking you can't and have never made a mistake makes you a huge danger to anyone with you.
And let's face it (not to bag on the Air Force or anything) but if you wanted to do a combat heavy job in the military you would have joined another branch......not the Air Force. And again, I got nothing but love for the flyboys, but their mission isn't on the ground.

1) Obviously none of it is fair. theyre not wearing helmets and 80 pounds of vest and gear in 130 degree heat. The bad guy is chillin there in his hut, happy as a pig in sh*t. So yeah, we have big slow moving MRAP's while they were driving 90MPH with no street laws. I agree, you cant move in the gear and it sucks, none of it is fair.

2) Im sure I have made mistakes, on the other hand, I witnessed guys pulling the whole "lets take out the rear ceramic plate because I wont get shot in the back"....EXACTLY like how it went down in whatever movie that was. Yeah, wearing the plates SUCKED, but id rather live too. Also the moron who didnt think it was important to clean his weapon, then have his weapon jam during an EOF incident.....yeah that was real cool when that went down and put EVERYONE at risk

3) youre 100% right, I did join the AF because it was the "least military"...sadly, I got a huge wakeup call on that one. I didnt wanna be "rambo"...BUT....if the service is going to treat my career field like that and make us do F'ing foot patrols in iraqi cities with M249's...then yeah, im going to reap the credit thats due.

.....Precisely correct, Sir

Michaep, you sure have a funny way of apologizing and admitting you stuck your foot in your mouth.

We (the coalition) now outnumber the Taliban 12 to 1 and are not making any progress whatsoever. If we send 40,000 more troops we will outnumber them 14 to 1. Do you REALLY think it will make that much of a difference? Anyone? We are throwing good money after bad at this point and we are just WASTING American lives. For what again?

It's time to pull out all Americans and turn Afghanistan into a giant sheet of glass.

The Army has been getting a free ride from the AF and Navy with thousands of enlisted and non-rated bodies, AND IT SHOULD END NOW.

Questions?
This guy cracks me up. Duhhhhhh, if there are going to be 40,000 more troops in Afghanistan, one would think that would equal to more Air Force??? Wouldn't you??? Air Force does have troops right??? I remember when I was deployed and on the front cover of the Air Force Times (in Px) it read: Deployments about to go to 6 months. I'm like, REALLY? This is front page news???? Ahhhhh, I also had Air Force living by me for a few months (their deployment was 4 months), and they complained to me about having to stay another day because their flight got delayed. Ignorance. I just shuck my head and went to my room.
