Anyone that could possibly be defending this uniform obviously has never been in a hot weather climate with it on. After having to go through BEAST at BMT (and I know those temperatures in San Antonio dont come anywhere close to what its like in the sandbox) I dont understand how this uniform in any way seems applicable to the AOR. After spending an entire day in the uniform with full battle-rattle, you finally get to a stopoping point for the day only to realize that you dont need to shower because your already soaked from your own stingy sweat from heat to toe. I remember having to ring my top out once. I heard a rumor they were going to be coming out with a new lightweight ABU top si that might help, but then you have the design pattern that you all have mentioned is a retarded choice, and the needless pockets that are everywhere.

I know it will be a few years before we see a new uniform. Hopefully someone who isnt just looking for an extra star on their shoulder gets a say in what we utilize.

...seems like a pretty good indication you DO need a shower, to me.

You had the tuck versus untuck shirt option, could convert to short sleeves in garrison (still had to keep long sleeves for the MoBag) and I'll admit that I liked the unit hat thing too.
Yes, yes, a thousand times YES. Permanent Press fatigues were the greatest uniforms ever.

Low Maintenance (wash, dry, hang)

Cheap ($13 for a set)

Comfortable (cut the sleeves, chuka boots, untuck or tuck the shirt)

...and looked decent enough.

C. My idea for the look calls on an approach that call for a service dress that calls for individual identity as well as hearkens back to historical Army Air Corps roots
D. Say my reasoning for having a unified US camouflage system, individual Air Force garrison and stateside uniforms, and state once and for all that in order to create an identity that is genuine and ours as a service we must create something that is functional for our service, cost effective, and honors the history of the Air Force.

If my rant seems unfocused, it is, that's why it's mentioned as a rant. While my idea was getting a point across of the points mentioned above I obviously must have missed my point. Hopefully my summary better illustrates the ideas I wanted to bring across when the new uniform is ever brought back again into the forefront.

What we really need is a 10 year moratorium on uniform changes...and PT Changes...

In no way am I mentioning any experience as I know I am a 'baby blue' as far as that is concerned. All I am saying is that the faults the current ABU has seem that they are obvious to anyone that wears them.
