Default PT Wear

http://www.airforcetimes.com/news/20...dance_103109w/

Okay, first this article sucks. I say this becuase it presents the new guidelines as if they
were not the same guidelines that intially came out. These are not new, it's come full circle.
I am almost fully convinved that someone changed the intial guidelines - got a bullet and now
someone is changing again for another bullet. Common sense is gone. Reminds me of the
change a few years ago when they changed to "all - some -or none" for the ribbons on the
service coat. Then later they changed back to wear them all. What's crazy is they never
talk about how everyone was wrong for changing these things...Hmmm doing away
with the good conduct medal...the list is endless...circle insignia - no circle insignia - circle insignia.
Tuck in boot, don't tuck in boots...Pt test - bike test...No wonder no one takes these crazy guidelnes seriously...
There should be a moratorum put on changing anything for 1 to 2 years...
I am just shaking my head at this point

And I thought I looked "professional" with my pathetic un-tucked PT shirt. Silly me. I don't know how we survived in our rag-tag PT gear! Well, now that we need to "tuck", we are back to being "professional" again (until tucking becomes unprofessional in 1-2 years, then we'll be unprofessional looking again.) Hmm, anyone need a monster bullet in 1-2 years? You better start working on it, cause I'm sure there is a Col. out there that will be trying for his first star in 1-2 years. T- 8 years, 2 months, 27 days till retirement and then I'll be doing PT naked at home on my treadmill!

In the past, any old sneaker was OK to wear, but no more. Now “conservative athletic shoes” with “no bright/loud colors or excessive ornamentation” are mandated.

I wonder if these are taboo now?

You would think that the purpose/functionality of the shoe would be important, especially since they have us running on the two worst surfaces, asphalt and/or concrete - we were even running on gravel for the longest time... ...but nope just the looks of it is all that is important.

Of all the problems in the Air Force...and this is what they want to "fix"... I really am starting to question that recent re-enlistment....oh well, it will be over soon enough.

I am so happy that we have now more rules to follow. Hell, it is to the point that I don't know if I am sleeping in the correct by the book position considering that we have regulated the hell out of everything else. BTW, could White be considered a bright color as it can blind you in bright light?

How soon before the AF just mandates we sew rank on the PT uniform? Does the tucked in shirt require a bloused appearance? Is there really such a thing as conservative athletic shoes, especially (quality) running shoes?

Oh I'll bet "approved" running shoes will be available through AAFES.

Wonderful.....time in BMT can now be spent buffing and shining spiffy new PT shoes instead of polishing black boots for BDU's.

"PT shoes will at all times present a shined and buffed appearance"

....its a joke.....but some Command Chief will think its a good idea

Well... I guess it's back to being uncomfortable and dorky looking. Since when does working out have to look professional? Being sweaty is VERY unprofessional so does that mean I shouldn't sweat? If my hair falls out of my rubber band and looks like a total mess will that be considered unprofessional? What about panting after a mile and a half run and being stopped to talk to the commander? Would that look professional?

This just in they are going to be pulling 341's from anyone who violates the new PT uniform standards.
