How can you expect your people not to think the worst when you tell us nothing? Being the CC of the 11th Wing is no easy assignment. It's almost a guarenteed star if you do it well.

I met Col Roop and he was a very down to earth man who was proud of his airman. I never worked with him but I can say that he did not "look down" on enlisted personnel. He was extremely personable (professionaly) with the junior ranking airmen and seemed to be very supportive. My husband works with Security Forces here and he told me that Col Roop has always gone out of his way to show his support for what they do. My friend saw him drive by the day that they news went out and he came in the office and made a comment about how Col Roop looked like his lost his best friend. That day, the news came out. My thoughts go out to my former CC and his family.
NO sympathies here. Wing CCs get to their position because they are driven. Roop desired, politicked, and campaigned for the position, and because of his actions and inactions, he got canned.

Ambition, meet ability.

One more thing. Are you a contributor to the very poor customer service experienced by most when they deal with 11th Wing assets? Like, the base/Pentagon MPFs? Like, CE services? Like, the Housing and Billeting offices?

Just askin'.

Haha...no. But I know what you mean. I am at the 579th MDG which is attached to the 779 MDW at Andrews. I am not attached to the 11th Wing but I am stationed at Bolling. Thankfully I have nothing to do with the horrible customer service at Finance or the MPF.

Indeed. Thanks for the confirmation. The 11th WIng is the poster child for the worthless, parasitic takeover of bases by contractors/civilians, led by slimy and inept careerist officers.

God help us all.

No sympathies for this guy. He was one of the guys who thought and vocalized (loudly I might add) his belief that there is and was no manning problem in the AF. He deserves what he got.
