Yeah...I probably walked right into that one, though I have heard it referred to as an EGA by Marines in a practical sense. Whatever, it is what it is...and he knew what I meant.

actually, an eagle, globe, and anchor is an EGA. Maybe not back when you were in, but I believe its been popularly used since about the early 2000's because thats when texting starting becoming the "it" thing. Just like people use, LOL, WTF and all that stuff, we now use EGA.

Some Marines use 'EGA' but "we" don't use it around here.

could you clarify the term "we"? We as in the Marines on/in your base/unit? Or we as in your fellow SNCO who have all probably been around longer than cellphones/texting and the begining of turning every phrase into a freakin acronym?

LOL...I was "around" when the Cell phone had to be hooked up to a car battery and needed a shoulder harness to hold it up to the ear.



We as in my section, I correct it on the spot. I don't get all anal about it, but it's just 'one of those things'...and walking on the grass.

Nahhhh, we got new phones JUST last week. Next up, one of those cool boxes that goes in the window to cool the warehouse down.
