Default What is the most ridiculous lie you have heard in your Marine Corps career?

I was walking back from the DFAC on Camp Taqqadum with a few Marines, BSing about previous deployments. One of the Marines told a tale of how he was patrolling through a town when his patrol was attacked by a drug crazed Iraqi. For all of you skeptics this can happen and probably has happened; however this is where the story takes a strange twist. The lunatic charged the patrol with a rather large knife. The patrol established hostile intent and opened fire. According to him they went through 4 magazines of 9mm, a drum of 7.62mm and he personally shot him 7 times with hollow point 5.56mm followed by 3 rounds of .50 caliber. The drug crazed terrorist did not go down until the 3rd .50 caliber round hit him. At this point I decided to have some fun with him, I asked him if they actually hit him with any of the previous rounds and he swore to all of us that most of the rounds hit the bad man and that all 3 .50 caliber rounds hit him. Until recently that was the best I’ve heard. However a subscriber to this community claimed 85% of his Grunt Company used drugs on a regular basis and that it was being covered up by his SACO. Can anybody top these lies?

The biggest lie.....Semper Fi, or Marines do the right things for the right reasons all the time.
IDK which one is bigger.

If Marines kill themselves or they're not wearing proper protective gear on a motorcycle or a seat belt in a car they won't get their medical coverage if they're injured or their death benefits if they die. BS!!

And when my unit was deployed, we had a Marine who told his mom he got picked to be a sniper and was going on sniper patrols....NOT!!

That one of my Cpl's (when I was a salty lance, ha) rescued Jessica Lynch. (This guy told this to his wife, his family, other Marines wife and his own brother, a boot in the Corps as well) He told them he was no shit part of some secret platoon that was more high speed low drag then Force Recon and the reason that he wasn't pictured like the actual people who did save her is because people wanted him dead for some other things that happened in Afghanistan (which happened while we were in 29 Palms.) When asked by his wifey why there was a female (me) in the unit, he claimed we were his "cover" unit and that it was so "high speed, low drag" that even we didn't know about it.

Can anyone beat that, ha!

Ok, that might be the tallest tale I've ever heard. Even if there was some insurgent higher than notamotogrunt and 85% of his company, and assuming that there is some truth in as much that he was hit by 9mm, 7.62, 5.56 hollow point (not sure why they had that anyway aside from wanting to carry illegal ammo) and 3 rounds of .50...then common sense would dictate that there is no possible way this guy didn't go down. The .50 alone would have not only knocked him off his feet but left a hole the size of a bongo truck and ripped limbs from torso. Was this superman on drugs?
