The .50 alone would have not only knocked him off his feet but left a hole the size of a bongo truck and ripped limbs from torso. Was this superman on drugs?
I thought the same exact thing when I read this. A .50 cal round just flying close by you can rip your arm off. You know what..........maybe this kid used to be part of notamotogrunts company and perhaps he was in the 85% drug club. It would explain where his story came from

Didn't want to ask and be in violation of the "don't ask/don't tell" policy. Don't go getting all bent out of shape, you wingnuts, it's all in good fun!!

Actually, I'm not sure if the 1st Sgt was serious, but it's not uncommon for Mechs to be door gunners in the box, and a lot of them have their combat wings and CARs. I even knew a Corpsman who was pretty well decorated for an evac under fire he did as a gunner. Admin guy being a door gunner...that's pretty unlikely though, but I've seen others.

Notamoto, you are so boot, it embarrasses me to see you talk. I would listen to that kid who said SOI should pistol qual before I would listen to anything you have to say.

Nope, not serious. That's why I went with an Admin guy. Mechs fly in the birds. They'd BETTER be proficient gunners. Especially if they're extracting a team from a hot LZ.
