Default Re: new NCO, new problem

Good on you, fellow corporal of Marines, for going out there and showing him what you're made of. However, Marines aren't petty bullies either, and him putting you at parade rest because of your personal decision to give someone you undoubtedly trust a great deal (your brother) a general power of attorney is completely unsat. At times, there are things that are worth getting in some shit over, and your dignity should be one of them. You are obviously intelligent enough to pick up on the fact that what he is doing is wrong.

Ever had a friend that loved to hang out when you picked him up for school in your car, and let you buy his beer for him, but as soon as you had other commitments started being an asshat? That's the MO of the sergeant in question here, I can almost guarantee it.

Here's my advice to you, continue to do well, stay under his radar, but if this comes up again, you need to make a solid point to your SNCO, because this, like many other people are saying, isn't just hazing because it's in the definition of hazing, it's humiliating. The sooner individuals like this sergeant realize that they are not "your daddy" and you're a grown man because you can recognize your own downfalls and correct them with prejudice, the sooner we'll be able to focus more on the mission at hand.
