go with number 3 so they can just modify the ACU. Its colors are way better than just adding coyote brown to the existing pattern. All branches should go with the Marine woodland and desert pattern. they got it right and this separation of uniforms is becoming ridiculous.

from a person that is upset with fighting in ACUs in Iraq and now wearing them in Afghanistan.

right so in pine woods is where the next war is going to be?? were not deer hunting here rambo, multi cam looks more like another bdu , if theyre gonna change it might as well stick with what works and the acu's do work however the color choice could be modified a bit so it doesnt blend in with gravel only.

I will agree with him no that we arent deer hunting nor beign rambo i think we should just change the color of the acu's so it dosent blend in with gravel bc all we are gonig to do i just keep picking colores we dont even need.

In an eutopian society I would have option 3 with different uniform sets for the major environments (snow, forest, desert..etc). I believe the digital pattern is very important, even though it may not been seen as very important in our current theatre of operations in the middle east, as few countries can afford NVG's. The digital patterns break up silhouettes tremendously when being observed through NVG's, and if I have to fight against a country that has equipment like NVG's, I would feel more comfortable fighting in the digi's.

However, I know that this is not an eutopian society, and I do not have the burden of making such a costly decision. Therefore, II can only hope that the Army can take the time and make an educated selection based upon THOROUGH COST-BENEFIT analysis.

We should follow the Marine Corps. Their digital pattern/colors seem to be working for them. Why did each Branch have to come up with their own set of Duty Uniforms (someone is making some big money off of this one)? If used to be if you went to any Military Clothing and Sales you could buy the BDU, and it worked for all Branches (it would be nice to do that again).

Before they decide on what pattern to use, they need to get rid of ACU's all together. These uniforms are a disgrace! They never should have gone away from the old design. They said they wanted to make it better and less expensive for the soldiers, they didn't. They did the exact opposite. The Army Time needs to do an investigation on who really benefitted from the change, because it wasn't the soldier in the field.

The multicam will suite our soldiers to blend in the best in all environments.

Multicam is probably the best. It has shades of pink in it which is proven to be the best camoflage for desert environments. BTW Multicam site has pics of what it looks like in the desert, it's pretty damn good. A guy in this forum did raise a good question about if Multicam will work as a digital pattern, someone should research that. Multicam does seem to be the best economical option since it works in so many different types of environments including urban environments which are extremely important as well.
