Good on ya, Dave... we all need to support the Army the best we can. The DoD and our civilian leadership need to make force structure fit the current needs and anticipated needs of our military.

The horrendous deployment/rotation schedule placed on our Army will remain inhumane until the Pols get their heads out of the sand.

For all the members of our sister services, know this: Michaep does not speak for the USAF, its Airmen or its dependants!

All service rivalries aside, most AF personnel have a deep respect and admiration for the Army and Marine forces for which a lot of our mission is to provide support for in peace and war.

Few of us would like to trade places with you and experience the madness of deployment after deployment, and the misery of frontline combat, year in and year out.

Some of our AF brothers are caught up in this war too, and fight along side of you in various specialties. They too have our utmost respect.

Some AF Airmen are also in constant rotation and deployment in support of the Army but we all know that you in the Army and Marines are burdened with the majority of circumstances that put you in the sh...

We are proud of you, lifted up by your courage and bravery, sad for the impact on your families and horrified by your suffering.

You are constantly in our prayers and we are so grateful for your service.

If that is the case, it would explain a lot about your posts. But, whats with the age thing??? I think you are commenting on some of the very, very old Guard and Reserve soldiers you see running around....I've seen some low-ranking soldiers in their 50s myself so know what you are talking about but there's no way you could be that old. The AF wouldn't have it!
The Regular Army raised the maximum enlistment age to 42; that's what Mike is referring to. I can only imagine the discipline problems that this is causing when 42 year old Privates can't handle the fact that they have to take orders from a 22 year old Sergeant. A line I've been dying to use, but to this day, haven't had the opportunity: " If the Navy gave a fuck about about your age, you'd be wearing a number on your sleeve!"
