Mr. Gates,
After reading this article, I would like to thank you and buy you a beer! Mr. Wynne's comments about Navy nuclear standards/culture somehow playing a role in how the report was written underscores your decision to remove him. "Adm. Donald “looked at us from a Navy perspective,” Wynne said. “They just see things very differently than we do.” I agree, Mr. Wynne, the United States Navy see's things differently. Unlike you, they get the importance of securing this nation's nuclear stockpile. Mr. Wynne, your comments prove to me that you are not fit to lead a group of nuns in silent prayer. Please retire gracefully and stop embarrassing the United States Air Force. |

I'll be happy when we finally (and eventually) stop seeing Moseley and Wynne in the headlines. While I give them credit for having some pure motivation in fighting for the AF against the Army-dominated DOD leadership, they went about it in the wrong way, top to bottom. You can't change your boss' attitude by gouging him in the eye every chance you get. You can't even get results the right way when your credibility is shot because of massive, embarrassing, and repeated failures on your watch.
And when you do ridiculous crap like sacking quality of life, RIFfing people left and right, and yet still wasting money on new service uniforms and $58 million lobbying ads disguised (poorly) as recruiting spots, your support from below will certainly erode. They managed to piss off those above and below them, so they paid for it with their jobs. Now we have to see them both weekly with these interviews and other articles. Just fade away, for God's sake! It's like we have a collective hangover after a night of Mad Dog 20/20 and someone keeps offering us more in the morning. |

To the anonymous feedback provider who said in response to my post above (and I quote) "What's the Rev for? You sure as hell ain't a chaplian (spelling as written...)" -- the second time he/she has asked the same question:
Never claimed to be a chaplain or ordained at all, my eloquent friend. But I'll ask YOU a question: why would you rather analyze people's screen names and incorrectly assume things based on them, rather than respond to just what I said above that offended you or led you to believe I couldn't be a chaplain? After all, surely there are ministers out there who've tangled with the drink and the ladies before going over to the Lord... And again -- what about my critique of the Wynne/Moseley failed regime do you actually take offense to or disagree with? Please do tell -- how about offering some of your comments up for scrutiny instead of hiding in the shadows from an already anonymous forum? To quote the greatest radio talk show, The Jungle: "Have a take, and don't suck." You fail on both counts. |

The gut response to the names of Wynne and Moseley is just totally extreme among those who left the Air Force during the 2007 Force Shaping Program.
This is a true story from an Air Force veteran who was "force-shaped" via mental health evaluation (you can read the details on another thread "Mental Health and Security Clearances"): The victim of this dastardly tactic had already recovered from the stress of war. However, during the interview with the background investigator the subject recounted the maltreatment received from the RIF policy which Moseley and Wynne presided. Just mentioning the names Moseley and Wynne was sufficient to give this individual the fits of rage and anger that the investigator made a remark, "Maybe you should seek counseling again". That is how bad the Wynne-Moseley flashbacks are: it is worst than PTSD!!! I just about died laughing when this story was recounted to me by the individual. I thought it was funny, but this person was serious and was not joking. |
