Default AF versus Corps. Non-Combat jobs

Quick question for you...

Does the Marine Corps not have non-combat jobs?

Does the Corps not have Fobbits?

No cooks or finance personnel in the Corps?

I'll give it to you...The Corps has...

1) Amazing looking Military Dress Uniform
2) Longer boot camp
3) Better military bearing (depending on the situation as some can get too rowdy at inappropriate times and places)

Yes...I understand that you're a Rifleman/Infantryman first and your job second...its the same thing to an extent in the Air Force where they make them go through rifle fighting techniques and DFP's...etc...

But I wouldn't trust your finance personnel in combat anymore than I'd trust an Air Force finance guy with a weapon....

As much as Marines rag on the Air Force....they both have the same non combat type of jobs

Not to meantion such AF jobs as Security Forces, Pararescue, Combat Control, JTAC...etc...which are FAR from being the "chairforce"

Of course if you're Marine Corps Infantry as your actual job then hats off to you...you win hands down. As well as if you're any other combat oriented job or Special Forces...sorry, admin personnel...13 weeks of boot camp doesn't qualify you as "combat oriented"

I understand that its drilled into your head during those 13 weeks that you're the best, and in some aspects that is the truth, but it's pointless to get mad that you're called a soldier when you're not in the Army or to think that everyone in the Air Force is a p*ssy when you have fobbits too

Thanks for taking the time to read this, enjoy the rest of your time in the Service

I would love to know what makes you think that you rate to call any Marine unqualified for combat. Every Marine is a rifleman first. It doesn't matter what their MOS is, they deploy. Granted, there are certain jobs that deploy more than others but, that's just how it goes. And, knowing certain Marines in their respective jobs the way I do, I would trust many of my finance Marines over a CC any day.

...Okay...When a Marine gets deployed to Iraq does EVERY Marine ONLY work in Infantry??? The answer is no.

Not every Marine goes outside the wire either...

Don't hate that an Airman can have more experience in combat then a Marine working behind a desk

WELCOME to the new "Joint Force" Concept....Learn to live with it

In terms of addressing Officers by their first names...I have never done that. Enlisted Marines claim "don't address me as Sir, I work for a living". Are you meaning to imply then that your SUPERIOR Officers do not work for a living? And that if they don't work then there is no use for them? THAT is 10 times more disrespectful.

I have a few complaints about the airforce. They shouldn't be completely taken away, they should just maintain logiscitical needs. They should not have their hands on any forward firing weapons what so ever.

and CHROME - people on the airside might already know about their bullshit. I'll just leave it at that.

Give me three good, valid reasons why.

Air superiority is maintained primarily by Marines, and Navy. and Army even helps in a rotary wing role.

Some air force aircraft don't even have the basic equipment to convert from MGRS to Lat Longs which creates a lot of problems when trying to support personnel on the ground who are using MGRS versus the aircraft that can only use Lat Longs.

CHROME - Who blatantly lie about being shot at in their never ending quest for air medals they don't deserve.

What does this have to do with Airman carrying firearms in a combat environment?

Michelleap, how about you quit it with all the crap. Quit all the "pro" Air Force and trying to belittle us Marines. We've had 2 replies get deleted, one of mine which you didnt get the chance to read. Coming into the Marine thread starting your "smart aleck" thread, is not the wisest nor brighest thing to do. Wish I could more into depth with how I feel about your posts, but, obviously due to the previous problems that resulted in the Editor telling us to knock it off, I am not going to belligerently break the rules.

Please take your Air Force self back into your designated thread section, atleast until you want to post something meaningful and less belittling.

Those folks dont contribute to keeping air superiority?

I suggest you read up on those and then re-think your point of view, Corporal.
