Bull, 29, of Wilkes-Barre, Pa.; assigned to the Special Troops Battalion, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas; died July 8 at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained in Chow Kay Valley, Afghanistan, when his vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device during a mounted patrol.

  • Army Cpl. William L. McMillan III, 22, of Lexington, Ky.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment, 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; died July 8 in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds sustained when his patrol was struck by an improvised explosive device.

  • Army Staff Sgt. Alex R. Jimenez, 25, of Lawrence, Mass.; assigned to the 4th Battalion, 31st Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), Fort Drum, N.Y.; was captured May 12, 2007 by enemy forces in Jurf es Sakhr, Iraq, when his unit was attacked by insurgents using automatic fire and explosives. His body was recovered July 8, 2008 in Iraq. Also killed were Spc. Byron J. Fouty, Pfc. Joseph J. Anzack, Jr., Sgt. 1st Class James D. Connell, Jr., Pfc. Daniel W. Courneya, Cpl. Christopher E. Murphy and Sgt. Anthony J. Schober.

  • Marine Lance Cpl. Jeffery S. Stevenson, 20, of Newton, N.J.; assigned to the 7th Engineer Support Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif; died July 13 in Taqaddum, Iraq, from a non-hostile accident.

Abad, 21, of Morganfield, Ky.; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment (Airborne), 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team, Vicenza, Italy; died July 13 of wounds sustained when his outpost was attacked by small-arms fire and rocket-propelled grenades from enemy forces in Wanat, Afghanistan.
