Sanchez wins gold
Team USA hauled in seven total cycling medals on the first day of road competition Sept. 12, bringing their total to 11. The HC C Men's Time Trial was the first race of the day with a distance of 12.7km. Former Marine Oscar "Oz" Sanchez (San Diego, Calif.) was the first to cross the finish line, winning the gold with a final posted time of 20:16.52. Sanchez finished 20 seconds before the 2nd place winner.
