Phil Stacey and his “American Idol” compatriots are too big to be contained by the small screen — they’re taking their act on the road, the show announced Monday, along with the dates and cities for this summer’s 50 “American Idols Live” concert series.
Stacey, a musician third class with the Navy Band in Jacksonville, Fla., will perform a hometown gig with the nine other “Idol” finalists July 8 at Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena. Fans on other major Navy bases will be able to see him at other shows, including in San Diego; Hampton, Va.; and Tacoma, Wash. See the full list here.
As with the television show that inspired it, the “Idols Live” tour has become a dominant force in its field. In past seasons, shows have commanded ticket prices around $70, and many sold out.
