ConUS COLA locations for 2009

Service members in 56 high-cost areas across the country qualify for the continental U.S. cost-of-living allowance, or ConUS COLA, in 2009. The allowance compensates service members with command-sponsored dependents residing in the vicinity of the member’s duty station for nonhousing expenses in areas where these costs exceed the national average by more than 8 percent. Rates are based, in part, on dependent status. To calculate your monthly allowance, multiply the figure next to your duty station in the list of eligible locations by the payout rate — found here with dependents, here without — for your paygrade, years of service and dependent status.
