ConUS COLA locations for 2009

Service members in 56 high-cost areas across the country qualify for the continental U.S. cost-of-living allowance, or ConUS COLA, in 2009. The allowance compensates service members with command-sponsored dependents residing in the vicinity of the member’s duty station for nonhousing expenses in areas where these costs exceed the national average by more than 8 percent. Rates are based, in part, on dependent status.
