3 hurt in Ark. Guard helicopter crash

YELLVILLE, Ark. — An Arkansas National Guard helicopter being used in a criminal investigation went down Thursday in the vicinity of the Buffalo Point recreation area, injuring three people.
The National Guard said all three people on board were airlifted to a hospital with minor injuries. The helicopter, which was being used for a reconnaissance mission, went down about 1:30 p.m. in the Buffalo National River area.
The Arkansas State Police identified one of the passengers as special agent Kevin Brown, part of the department’s criminal investigation division. Brown, 30, was in good condition, according to State Police spokesman Bill Sadler.
The pilot was a member of the National Guard. A member of the 20th District Drug Task Force was also on board.
The National Guard dispatched a team to the crash site to begin investigating what might have caused the helicopter to go down.
