MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — The body of a veteran who was believed to be homeless was found outside of a Veterans Affairs hospital in Murfreesboro.
Rutherford County Sheriff's Office found the body of Christopher Pine outside of an abandoned shop building at the Alvin C. York Medical Center on Sunday.
Maj. Chuck Thomas told the Daily News Journal that Pine fell down an embankment and injured his hand and his ankle. Thomas said heat and the man's medical condition may have contributed to his death.
Chris Conklin, a spokesman for the hospital, said Pine, who was in his 40s, was receiving care through the VA, but it wasn't clear if he was currently being treated at the hospital.
