EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. — Speaking to a crowd of about 1,100 people Thursday afternoon at Eglin Air Force Base, first lady Michelle Obama urged the public to help raise the awareness of the struggles facing military families.
The goal should be to “find what’s working for families, what’s not working and how to fix it,” Obama said.
Obama spoke for about 30 minutes and told the crowd of military service members and civilians that she is in awe of their service and sacrifice.
She said meeting members of the military is a highlight of her role as first lady.
