Two A-10C Warthogs from the 57th Wing at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada crashed during a training flight Wednesday night.

In a release Thursday, Nellis said both pilots ejected safely and are being evaluated at a medical center on base.

The Warthogs were conducting what Nellis referred to as a routine training mission at the Nevada Test and Training Range at about 8 p.m.

The release said that a board will be convened to investigate the crash, and that its cause is not yet known.

It’s not yet known if the A-10s can be repaired or if they are lost, said Nellis spokesman Master Sgt. Sanjay Allen.
