Coming this summer, this solid-copper slug with polymer tip should be an excellent deer-hunting round. The slug is encased in a high-density plastic sabot and is designed to open up into some wicked petals, somewhat similar to the hugely popular Barnes Expander muzzleloader rounds. From experience, deer hit well with these types of slugs go down quickly.

Note: Shells are 2.75 inches long, five to a box. The 12-gauge version weighs an ounce; 20-gauge weighs three-quarters of an ounce.

MSRP: $15-$17. Available this summer.
