TRAILER: Special Forces in action, and a Green Beret's legacy in the spotlight, in 'Danger Close'

The third film in a series of documentaries tracking service members through combat deployments makes its return to the battlefield with a purpose.

"Danger Close" follows reporter Alex Quade's efforts tracking the legacy of Staff Sgt. Rob Pirelli, a Green Beret combat engineer who died in Iraq in 2007. Before his death, Pirelli had led the construction of a base for his fellow special operators; the movie follows Quade's quest to revisit that base.



Directors David Salzberg and Christian Tureud also helmed 2016's "Citizen Soldier," which tracked an Oklahoma National Guard unit's surge deployment to Afghanistan, and 2014's "The Hornet's Nest," which featured two journalists, father and son, chronicling multiple battles while embedded with U.S. forces in Afghanistan.

"Danger Close" debuts in select theaters April 28 and is set for home video/streaming release May 16.
