A cutting-edge community hospital
Out with the old and in with the new as Fort Belvoir Community Hospital moves closer to its mid- August opening date. With a price tag of more than $1 billion dollars, the hospital would be the first to incorporate views of nature, subdued colors and single-patient rooms.
The facility will replace the DeWitt Army Community Hospital and absorb some patients from the recently closed Water Reed Army Medical Center. The National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, will also take on some of the patients and be renamed the Walter Reed National Military Center.
The following pages highlight features of the new hospital with videos featuring Dr. Rick Repeta, Director of Integration and Transition for Fort Belvoir Community Hospital, providing a more in-depth explanation.
