So it should come as no surprise to his friends and fans that the former light infantryman, who lost a leg and an arm in a bomb blast in Iraq, will be among the light-on-their-feet hopefuls in the upcoming season of "Dancing with the Stars."

Announced on ABC's "Good Morning America" from the show's ballroom studio in Los Angeles, the 20th season of "DWTS" will feature another diverse cast, ranging from actress and fitness evangelist Suzanne Somers to LMFAO's Redfoo.

Shortly after the announcement, Galloway joked about dancing with a missing leg, tweeting: "0 left feet > 2 left feet!"

He'll be partnered with Aussie dance pro Sharna Burgess.

Galloway was a grunt with the 101st Airborne Division. Just three months into a 2005 Iraq deployment, his world changed forever in a flash of fire and metal.

With his life hanging in the balance for nearly a week, Galloway woke up in a military hospital on Christmas Day to learn he had lost his left arm above the elbow and left leg above the knee.

Now a personal trainer and motivational speaker, he was dubbed the 2014 "Ultimate Guy" by Men's Health magazine in November. Since then, he's been a guest on "Ellen" and "The Today Show," among others.

Making the most of the spotlight, Galloway recently created the No Excuses Charitable Fund, which raises money and awareness for charities, including Operation Enduring Warrior and the YMCA.

He will be the second wounded warrior featured on "Dancing with the Stars," following J.R. Martinez, a fellow 101st veteran, who suffered severe burns in a 2003 explosion in Iraq. Those injuries didn't stop Martinez from winning the dance competition, however, capping the show's 13th season.

Thanking friends and followers, Galloway posted a quick note from Los Angeles on his Facebook page, writing, "I am so excited about being on the show and can't wait to share it all with you!"

The 20th season of "Dancing with the Stars" premieres March 16.
