WASHINGTON — The director of the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force in Ohio will accept the Congressional Gold Medal on behalf of World War II's "Doolittle Tokyo Raiders."

The museum says congressional leaders will present the medal to retired Lt. Gen. Jack Hudson in a Wednesday afternoon ceremony at the Capitol Visitor Center in Washington. It's the highest civilian honor Congress can give.

This weekend, the museum plans events including formal presentation of the medal by retired Lt. Col. Richard "Dick" Cole to the museum for permanent display. Ninety-nine-year-old Cole and 93-year-old Staff Sgt. David Thatcher are the last alive of 80 men who made the daring air assault on Japan 73 years ago Saturday.

They will lift a private, traditional Raider toast to those who have gone.
