CANTON, Ga. — Several families are outraged over a decision to turn a cemetery for military veterans into a movie set.

WSB-TV reports a production company has shot a movie scene at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton. Two sections of the cemetery last week were taken over to shoot the movie "Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk." The film about Iraq War veterans returning home features actors Vin Diesel, Chris Tucker, Kristin Stewart and Steve Martin.

Veterans and their relatives have expressed displeasure, with one saying the cemetery is hallowed ground and there shouldn't be filming done there.

A Veterans Affairs spokesman in Washington says the decision to allow filming in national cemeteries is made on a "case by case" basis and dignified filming brings recognition to the sacrifices and service of veterans.
