40, of Manhattan, N.Y.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 12th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas; died Nov. 15 of injuries sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle during combat operations in Baquba. Also killed was Spc. Mitchel T. Mutz.
