HELENA, Mont. — A 20-year-old Marine from Vancouver, Wash., was killed by an incendiary device during combat in Iraq’s Anbar province, the U.S. Defense Department said Saturday.

Lance Cpl. Kane Funke, who attended high school in Kalispell, Mont., was killed on Friday, department officials said.

He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center at Twentynine Palms, Calif., officials said.
