23, of Spokane, Wash.; assigned to the 40th Engineer Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, Baumholder, Germany; died on Aug. 26 of injuries sustained when his vehicle struck an improvised explosive device in Sadr City, Iraq.
