19, of San Antonio; assigned to 3rd Squadron, 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment, Vilseck, Germany; died Aug. 7 in Kandahar, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained when insurgents attacked his unit using an improvised explosive device.
