29, of Jacksonville, Ill.; assigned to 1st Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.; died July 17 at Forward Operating Base Orgun-E, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.
