Hunt Jr., 40, of Tucson, Ariz.; assigned to the Marine Wing Support Group 37, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Ariz.; died Oct. 12 at Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, from wounds received July 24 when the vehicle he was riding in struck an anti-tank mine while conducting combat operations against enemy forces in Taqaddum, Iraq.

Conner, 36, of Baltimore; assigned to the 243rd Engineer Company, Maryland Army National Guard, Baltimore; killed Oct. 14 when he was conducting convoy operations and an 18-wheel tractor trailer accidentally struck the rear of his Humvee, starting a fire and causing ammunition to detonate in Taji, Iraq. Also killed were Spc. Samuel M. Boswell and Spc. Bernard L. Ceo.

  • Navy Builder 3rd Class Fabricio Moreno, 26, of Brooklyn, N.Y.; assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 3, Port Hueneme, Calif.; attached to Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa construction team; killed Oct. 14 in a single-vehicle accident in Manda Bay, Kenya.

  • Navy Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Christopher W. Thompson, 25, of N. Wilkesboro, N.C.; assigned to Echo Company, 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marines, 8th Regimental Combat Team, 2nd Marine Division, Fleet Marine Forces Atlantic, based in Camp Lejeune, N.C.; killed Oct. 21 by an improvised explosive device while conducting combat operations in Anbar province, Iraq.

  • Marine Cpl. Benny G. Cockerham III, 21, of Conover, N.C.; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.; killed Oct. 21 when his vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device while conducting combat operations against enemy forces near Amariyah, Iraq. His vehicle was traveling beside a canal when the attack occurred and he was thrown from the vehicle into the water. Also killed was Capt. Tyler B. Swisher.

  • Army Sgt. Michael T. Robertson, 28, of Houston; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 15th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Benning, Ga.; died Oct. 25 at Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, of injuries sustained Oct. 17 when an improvised explosive device detonated near his Bradley Fighting Vehicle in Samarra, Iraq. The incident fatally injured another soldier and was reported Oct. 25.

  • Army Cpl. Benjamin D. Hoeffner, 21, of Wheat Ridge, Colo.; assigned to the 324th Psychological Operations Company, Army Reserve, Aurora, Colo.; died Oct. 25 of a non-combat-related cause in Ali Al Salem, Kuwait.

  • Sgt. 1st Class Ramon A. Acevedoaponte, 51, of Watertown, N.Y.; assigned to the 3rd Forward Support Battalion, Division Support Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Ga., killed on Oct. 26 when an improvised explosive device detonated near his Humvee in Rustamiyah, Iraq.

  • Army Sgt. Evan S. Parker, 25, of Arkansas City, Kan.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 487th Field Artillery Regiment, 20th Brigade Combat Team, Army Reserve, Honolulu, Hawaii; died Oct. 26 at Landstuhl Army Medical Center in Landstuhl, Germany, of injuries sustained Oct. 23 when his dismounted patrol was attacked by enemy forces who threw an explosive device from their moving vehicle in Balad, Iraq.

  • Marine Lance Cpl. Robert F. Eckfield Jr., 23, of Cleveland; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.; killed Oct. 27 by an indirect fire explosion in Saqlawiyah, Iraq. Also killed was Lance Cpl. Jared J. Kremm.

  • Army Col. William W. Wood, 44, of Panama City, Fla.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 184th Infantry Regiment, California Army National Guard, Modesto, Calif.; killed Oct. 27 when he was directing security operations in response to the detonation of an improvised explosive device in Baghdad. During this response, a second IED detonated near his position.

Also killed was Sgt. Shaker T. Guy.

Guy, 23, of Pomona, Calif.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 184th Infantry Regiment, California Army National Guard, Modesto, Calif.; killed Oct. 29 when an improvised explosive device detonated near his Humvee during patrol operations in Baghdad.
