22, of Houston, Texas; assigned to 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii, killed Aug. 18 by enemy small-arms fire while conducting combat operations near Taleban, Afghanistan.
