31, of Missoula, Mont.; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade, Vicenza, Italy; killed on August 21 when an improvised explosive device detonated near his Humvee during patrol operations, near Baylough, Afghanistan.
