31, of Dyersburg, Tenn.; assigned to 87th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, N.Y.; died July 6 when his convoy encountered enemy small-arms fire in Baghran Valley, Afghanistan.
