23, of Union, Mo.; assigned to 4th Battalion, 42nd Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas; died Sept. 14 of injuries sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his dismounted patrol during combat operations in Taji, Iraq.
