30, of Garden City, Kan.; assigned to the 714th Security Force, Kansas Army National Guard, Topeka, Kan.; died Aug. 1 in Mosul, Iraq, of wounds sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle during combat operations in Basra, Iraq.
