23, of Stockton, Ill.; assigned to 1st Battalion, 30th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Ga.; died Aug. 11 of wounds sustained from an improvised explosive device during combat operations in Arab Jabour, Iraq. Also killed were Staff Sgt. William D. Scates, Sgt. Scott L. Kirkpatrick and Spc. Justin O. Penrod.
